We will be using this space to develop an interconnected manual about adulting built from our interviews. What this means is not only will we be adding the content from our interview analysis, but we will be creating links between pages and adding links to definition pages and other resources.

Our goal is to make this adulting manual maximally useful. Our analysis talks about something college students might not know about (e.g. "power of attorney")? Make a link to a page that explains it! Items in Home Life and Finances both talk about rent? Link them together! Anything you think will improve usability is something you can add to the wiki! But how do you do that?

The first couple of minutes of this video were great for me to help figure out how the system works. Watch through his discussion about using plugins. Our menu is a little less user friendly than the one he shows on the screen, but the same ideas apply. If you want to use plugins, this page explains how to do it.

Okay, I get the mechanics, but how is this going to work for class?

For this class you will create new pagesadd to existing pages, and create links to other pages, both within the wiki and outside the wiki. Each of you is responsible for 1) creating and editing content for one page, 2) collaborating with someone on creating and editing content on a second page, 3) creating relevant links between pages, and 4) creating relevant links to content from the web that open in new windows. A complete rubric for this project is here. Note that *this* page AND the rubric will be deleted on October 20 when all edits are due.

I'd like to see a full manual.

The PBworks Manual can help show you all sorts of things, some of which you won't have the privileges to do. If there's something you want to try that you can't do with your level of access, email me and we'll figure it out.
